A Women’s Pregnancy Center exists to help women and men acquire information about all of their pregnancy options so they can make a fully informed decision.
Parenting:
Though this can be a difficult option for the unexpected pregnancy, it can also be very rewarding. There are many resources in the community to assist women and families in undertaking this path. Parenting should not be taken lightly. A Women's Pregnancy Center offers a “Partner Program” to help men and women explore the different aspects of parenting.
Adoption:
This can also be a difficult choice, but for women who are not prepared to parent, it can be the best choice for woman and child. Adoption is a way for a mother to give her child more than she is ready to offer by placing her child in a loving family. There are various types of adoptions; our staff people can discuss the different adoption plans with you and how involved you want to be. AWPC also offers adoption counseling to women and families to help prepare them for the emotions that can follow an adoption and continue counseling support post-partum.
Abortion:
This option is also difficult for woman and others involved. It may seem like the quickest option, but there are serious physical and psychological risks that must be considered. These differ depending on the type of procedure and the stage of the pregnancy and can range from inconvenient to very serious. It is important a woman understands the risks involved before she undertakes a permanent action.
It is true that none of the options are easy, but the best way to prevent regret over a pregnancy choice is to have all of the information first. If you understand all of the risks and benefits, you can feel confident you’ve made an informed decision. |
